Taco seasoning is a blend of spices commonly used to flavor ground beef, chicken, or other proteins for tacos. It typically includes a mix of chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and salt. Some variations might also include black pepper, red pepper flakes, and dried herbs. This seasoning mix provides a savory, slightly spicy, and aromatic flavor profile that enhances the taste of taco fillings.

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp  ground cumin

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp  red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper

Directions

  • Mix all the spices in a bowl. Use immediately or store in an airtight container

Notes

  • Use two tbsp of pound of ground meat or seafood.
  • If using seafood, turn it into a paste with 2 tbsp of oil, then put it in a ziplock bag and coat.
